  1. Hi Emma, I am also passionate about baking and mostly eating what I’ve baked! Our street is having a street party to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee on 5th June. I would love to be the winner as I believe that all these Jubilee goodies will make our party extra special.

  3. I think the Day Jubilee garden party should be the winner as we have all the bunting ready, all the games sorted, we are marking white lines on our front lawn for the running races but something is missing – jubilee cupcakes and biscuits – if only I knew how to make them!!!

  5. Hey Emma. My Mum and Dad are heading down to North Devon over the Jubilee weekend, and I can’t go because I’ll be at work. I would love to be there celebrating the Jubilee with them, but as I can’t be there in person, I will be there in spirit by giving them a load of homemade treat to take down with them. I’m planning on sending them off with a victoria sponge, a tin of lemon drizzle cupcakes and union jack iced biscuits. I think your Lakeland goodies would those baked treats that bit more special and would make up for my absence

Hi Emma i would love to win the goodies as i am from Ireland and my husband is English so my children are used to seeing the Irish flag, shamrocks etc for St Patricks Day whilst St Georges day just passes by. I would love to surprise them all by having a Jubilee party which they would not be expecting.

  8. Why should I win this?

Because we are raising two adorable children both born in England, not being English ourselves. We are trying to take on board as many local traditions as possible. That is why just like last year for the Royal wedding, we will be attending the street party called by our neighbors. Bringing along our picnic beautifully organized with these goodies will make my prince and princess very happy!

  9. Umm Aisha says:

I would love to win these because I am baking some Union Jack themed cakes (including a battenburg for the first time hopefully!) as well as making a tea dress for my girl (who at six is falling in love with flags) using Union Jack themed fabric…anyone see a pattern! This is all for the party being held at my daughters school. I have eyed up these items at Lakeland Stratford, particularly the cookie cutters but have had to sigh and leave due to cost 🙁

  10. I wasn’t going to do anything but I’m now inspired by this post! What gorgeous things. Feeling rather patriotic now 🙂 Jelly and custard, trifle and victoria sandwich cake springs immediately to mind.

  11. Who was lucky enough to be the winner of these fab goodies??

  12. Ionlyponder@hotmail.com says:

I have spent the weekend sitting in the making bunting and preparing music playlists sothis jubilee pack is the only thing missing!

  13. hi i followed your madiera cake for a 10×10 bday cake it was only a trial cake at the moment.i followed your instruction and did not open the oven at all. i noticed after it was cooked it did slightley dip down and also had like bubbles on the top. did not stop me from icing but have you any idea why that would happen thanks debbie x

    1. EmmaMT from CakesBakesAndCookies.com says:

      Hello Debbie,

That’s a pretty strange problem to have with this Madeira cake as it nearly always domes upwards. Usually when a cake dips it’s because the oven door has been opened before it’s been properly baked enough. The quick rush of cold air effects the rising of the cake. But as you didn’t open the oven door that can’t be the case. Maybe your oven temperature was a bit low?

The bubbles are a common occurrence as that is the water in the recipe boiling and as the cake bakes the bubbles bake in place on the top. I used to get that a lot. Now I make sure that I add the water and flour in stages and I’m not over mixing. The more you mix the flour in the more air you remove from the cake (the air is incorporated in when you mix in the eggs and fluffy butter and sugar) Basically once the water and flour have been added to the ingredients only mix until it’s all incorporated.

I hope that helps some. Please let me know how you get on next time.

      EmmaMT
